The Jaguar Poem
0May 14, 2015 by jresendiz
You might think I’m just
a fifteen year old guy
with tan skin
and black hair
But I know I am more
way more that that
not a superhero or a jet plane
not a bird or a wolf
A jaguar
A quiet, sleeping jaguar
when I am depressed
I go out in the plains
and practice my sneakiness
rarely shifting around
animals running at my sight
awaiting my pounce
But when I get stronger
I force myself into leaping position
The gazelle turns my way
and shows a fear in it’s eyes
I pounce the gazelle
turning and rolling until I wear it out
I take a breath and prepare for the next one
This tan skinned, black haired guy is a jaguar
a quiet, loud, scary, unexpecting Jaguar.
